User Privacy for personal project purposes

Hello, Iโ€™d like to ask about privacy regarding files and data uploaded to this space. Are those files secure and inaccessible to the space owner, Facepoke, or can they be accessed? Iโ€™m working on a project with private files, so if there is no privacy, I will install it locally or purchase a private space. But if privacy is secure, it would be very convenient for me. Thank you very much if you can answer ๐Ÿ˜

Hello,
yes the files can be accessed*, if you want privacy you need to run it in your own private space (or better: locally)

it doesn't cost much if you only need to run it from time to time (eg only 1h, or 30 min - be sure to control the self-sleep, or manually put the space to sleep)

Some more information about running it in a custom/private space:

  • you will notice that the initial start (boot) of FacePoke takes some time, because it needs to download a lot of model files in parallel
  • models are stored to the disk, by default /tmp but I strongly advise to use the Hugging Face "persistant storage" so in /data, to avoid re-downloading them everytime your restart your space

*note that in practice, I don't have the time to watch what users submit because there is too much content (same issue with my AI Comic Factory project, there are millions of images generated by people and I can't check them)
